How Users Opt In
End users opt in before SMS notifications are enabled. Consent is collected only through the paths listed below. Each path uses the same disclosure text and requires a clear written approval or an unchecked consent checkbox before a phone number is activated for SMS.
- Good Elf Software web form or support request: the user enters a mobile phone number and checks an unchecked box agreeing to receive Good Elf Software operational SMS alerts and verification codes. The form links to this page, the Privacy Policy, and the Terms and Conditions before submission.
- Customer onboarding: a customer or authorized employee provides a mobile phone number during onboarding and approves SMS notifications using written onboarding text that contains the same disclosure shown below.
- Written administrator approval: a customer, employee, or authorized contact sends written approval to a Good Elf Software administrator. The administrator confirms the disclosure below before entering the phone number into the Good Elf Software notification contact list.
